Level 2 is done... and I'm behind schedule.
I have completed the 2nd level.
With this, I started coding the NPCs. I started off with the Caterpillar. I coded it to simply move in a different direction every second. Then I stated working on the Ant AI. I copied the Caterpillar's code but added additional checks. If its food is low it will prioritize food. if there are eggs that need cleaning it should walk towards the eggs. Larva need feeding, walk towards them
Unfortunate, this update is behind schedule. I may be able to catch up, but that means putting more features on the back burner. Currently level 2 (and the rest of the game) is missing the pheromone ability, and Icons that tell the player which NPC are too cold. This wont be much of an Ant Simulation if I can't have the Player deploy Pheromones to guide their sisters. The too cold Icon will be needed for the upcoming level 3, and is important as the Insects' temperatures are my take on the "Matter of degrees" theme.
